Workshop on Complex Hyperbolicity
Summer school on Hodge Theory and Shimura Varieties
Together with Matteo Costantini, Ulrich Görtz, and Carolina Tamborini I am organising a summer school in September 2024 here in Essen. The topic is Hodge Theory and Shimura Varieties, and the school will feature mini-courses by Charles Doran, Arno Kret, and Colleen Robles plus some additional research talks and Q&A sessions. Joint Seminar on Complex Algebraic Geometry and Complex Analysis
(Bochum - Essen - Köln - Münster - Wuppertal)
The seminar is organised by Stéphanie Cupit-Foutou (Bochum), Ursula Ludwig (Münster), George Marinescu (Cologne), Jean Ruppenthal (Wuppertal) and myself; meetings take place twice per semester in one of the five participating universities. Information on planned and past meetings can be found here.
DFG-Research Training Group 2553 "Symmetries and Classifying Spaces: analytic, arithmetic and derived"
I am one of the principal investigators and deputy spokesperson of the DFG research training group 2553, which started in April 2020. More information on research topics and on available positions can be found here.
ANR-DFG Project QuaSiDy: Quantization, Singularities, and Holomorphic Dynamics
Together with Judith Brinkschulte, Ursula Ludwig, George Marinescu, and Jean Ruppenthal on the German side, and Christian Miebach and many more colleagues on the French side, we successfully applied for a joint ANR-DFG project. I am involved as principal investigator in several subprojects studying holomorphic symmetries and quotients spaces as well as adapted complex structures and their relation to positivity properties of tangent bundles of Kähler manifolds.
As one part of the project, from June 20th to 24th, 2022, we organised a Workshop on adapted complex structures, hyperkähler structures on cotangent bundles, Bergman/Szego kernels, and positivity properties of tangent bundles at the University of Duisburg-Essen. More information can be found here.
Additionally, on September 4 and 5, 2023, together with Christian Miebach (Calais) and Viet-Anh Nguyen (Lille) I organised a Workshop on Complex Geometry and Holomorphic Dynamics at LMPA Calais. More information can be found on the following website.

DAAD P.R.I.M.E. Project
From August 1st, 2019 to October 31st, 2020, Dr. Leonid Ryvkin pursued the DAAD-funded project "Algebraic-geometric invariants of multisymplectic manifolds" as part of our research group. After a year-long stay at Jussieu, he joined our team here in Essen in August 2020. More information on the DAAD P.R.I.M.E. Program can be found here.

SFB/TRR 45 Periods, moduli spaces and arithmetic of algebraic varieties
My research group was partly funded by the SFB/TRR 45 (Bonn - Duisburg-Essen - Mainz), in particular in subprojects M08-9 "Birational geometry of hyperkähler manifolds" (PIs: D. Greb, D. Huybrechts, V. Lazic) and M08-10 "Moduli of vector bundles on higher-dimensional varieties" (PI: D. Greb).

Together with Sándor Kovács (Seattle), Alex Küronya (Frankfurt), and Julius Ross (Cambridge), in Spring 2017 I organised a workshop on "Positivity in Algebraic and Complex Geometry" at ICMS Edinburgh.
Summer school on Higgs bundles and fundamental groups
Together with Jochen Heinloth, I organised a School on Higgs Bundles and Fundamental Groups of Algebraic Varieties that took place from September 27th until September 30th, 2016 in Essen.

Junior Trimester Program "Algebraic Geometry" at Hausdorff Centre Bonn, Spring 2014, HCM Bonn
As part of the group "Birational and hyperkähler geometry" (formed by Anne-Sophie Kaloghiros, Vlad Lazic, Chenyang Xu, and myself) I participated in the Junior Trimester Program "Algebraic Geometry" at Hausdorff Centre Bonn in Spring 2014 (January - April).
As part of our activities, we organised a workshop on higher-dimensional birational geometry (see below), as well as several lecture series on topics such as characteristic p methods in the MMP. More information can be found on the program's website.

I used to be a member of the DFG-Forschergruppe 790 "Classification of algebraic surfaces and compact complex manifolds". I participated in the projects "Differential forms on singular spaces and classification theory" and "Stability of vector bundles and rational quotients".
DFG-Graduiertenkolleg 1821 "Cohomological Methods in Geometry"
I was one of the principal participating scientists and project leader in the Research Training Group GRK 1821 "Cohomological Methods in Geometry". I supervised the PhD project of Clemens Jörder and co-supervised the project of Tian-Shun Feng.
Eliteprogramm der Baden-Württemberg Stiftung
In Freiburg I held a fellowship in the "Eliteprogramm für Postdoktorandinnen und Postdoktoranden" of the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung. My project "Symmetries in Complex Algebraic Geometry: Quotients and Moduli Spaces" was supported from 01/2011 until 07/2013.

From June 2009 until October 2012 I was one of the organisers of the "Joint Seminar in Algebraic and Complex Geometry" (Freiburg - Nancy - Strasbourg).
Summer School on "Birational Automorphisms of Varieties of General Type"
Organisers: Daniel Greb, Stefan Kebekus, and Alex Küronya. The school discussed the recent results of Hacon, McKernan, and Xu on the finiteness of birational automorphisms of varieties of general type.
Research focus Quantum Efficiency
In Freiburg I participated in the interdisciplinary research focus Quantum Efficiency of the Institute of Physics. The main link between my research and this project is the use of (geometric) invariant theory in the study of entanglement.
